First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tested whether a colorful, interactive storytelling caterpillar toy could reduce pain, fear, and anxiety in 140 children aged 3 to 6 during a blood draw. One group used the toy during the procedure, while the other received standard care. Researchers measured pain, fear, and anxiety using child-friendly scales, and also asked parents about their satisfaction. The goal was to see if this simple distraction technique could make the experience better for kids and their families.
