Summary
This early-stage study tests a stimulant medication (methylphenidate, similar to Ritalin) given through an IV to people with severe brain injuries who are in a coma or minimally conscious state. The main goal is to check safety and find the right dose, not yet to prove it works. Ten adults with traumatic or oxygen-deprived brain injuries are enrolled at Massachusetts General Hospital.
