First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested whether injecting steroids directly into the spinal disc can reduce chronic lower back pain caused by inflammation seen on MRI. 137 adults with persistent pain for at least 3 months received the injection. The goal was to see if pain levels dropped below a certain threshold at 1 month and 12 months, and to measure improvements in disability, quality of life, and inflammation.
