First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage trial tested whether stem cells from donated bone marrow could safely help heal perianal fistulas in people with Crohn's disease. The study involved 25 adults with stubborn fistulas that hadn't healed with other treatments. Researchers injected the stem cells directly into the fistulas and monitored for side effects and healing.
