Stem cell trial for failing kidney transplants halted over safety
NCT ID NCT07005687
Summary
This study tested whether a patient's own stem cells could help control chronic rejection in kidney transplant recipients. Ten patients were planned, but the trial was stopped early after only three people participated because it did not improve rejection and raised safety concerns. The goal was to see if adding stem cells to standard anti-rejection drugs was safe and effective.
