Could your own stem cells slow Parkinson's? new trial results are in

NCT ID NCT04928287

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This phase 2 study tested whether a person's own stem cells (called HB-adMSCs) could help control Parkinson's disease. Twenty-four adults with early to moderate Parkinson's received either stem cells or a placebo over 32 weeks. The main goal was to see if the treatment improved daily living skills and was safe. Results are now available, but the treatment is not a cure—it aims to manage the disease.
