First human test: can cord stem cells help heal stroke damage?
NCT ID NCT05697718
Summary
This early-stage study tested the safety of a single infusion of stem cells from donated umbilical cords in people recovering from an ischemic stroke. It involved 18 participants who were 3 to 6 months past their stroke. The main goal was to see if the treatment was safe and well-tolerated, while also looking for early signs it might help with recovery.
