New app aims to close STEM gap for black students

Summary
This study is developing and testing a media-enhanced tool designed to help Black middle school students and their families engage with STEM learning at home. The tool includes culturally relevant role models, academic vocabulary practice, and growth mindset activities. About 138 parent-student pairs will use the tool and complete surveys and vocabulary tests to see if it improves learning and academic behaviors.
