Common cholesterol drug may shield hearts from cancer treatment side effects
NCT ID NCT05559164
Summary
This study is testing whether adding statins (common cholesterol-lowering drugs) can protect the heart in patients receiving targeted therapy for early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer. The goal is to prevent heart damage that sometimes causes treatment delays or discontinuations. Researchers will follow 60 female participants for five years to see if statins help them complete their cancer therapy safely.
