Summary
This study tested whether statins, a common cholesterol medication, could change the gut bacteria of people with ulcerative colitis to a healthier type and reduce disease activity. It included 177 adults with mild to moderate colitis or Crohn's disease. The trial was terminated early, so results are limited.
