Heart plaque showdown: combo therapy vs. High-Dose statin in new trial

NCT ID NCT06767345

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a moderate-dose statin combined with ezetimibe works as well as a high-dose statin alone in stabilizing fatty plaques in heart arteries. About 408 adults with coronary artery disease will receive one of the two treatments for 52 weeks. The goal is to see if the combination therapy can reduce plaque buildup and lower the risk of heart attacks or strokes.
