Zuni elders fight falls with community strength program

NCT ID NCT04876729

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 40 times

Summary

This study looked at why Zuni elders fall more often than other older adults and tested a home exercise program to help. 113 tribal members aged 65+ with high fall risk took part. The program used simple strength and balance exercises with support from community health workers and a physical therapist. The goal was to see if this approach could reduce falls and help elders stay safe and independent at home.
