New urethral gel could help men with erectile dysfunction

Summary
This study tests a new gel called ST-04 that is placed inside the urethra (the tube in the penis) to help men with erectile dysfunction (ED) who haven't had success with standard pills. The gel contains a medicine that widens blood vessels to produce an erection. About 83 men will try up to 3 different doses over 12 weeks, sometimes combined with sildenafil (Viagra), to see if it improves their ability to get and keep an erection.
