New spyglass technique battles shock waves for pancreatic stone removal

Summary

This study compared two ways to remove large stones from the pancreatic duct: Spyglass-guided lithotripsy (a tiny camera and laser) and ESWL (shock waves from outside the body). 116 patients who couldn't be treated with standard ERCP took part. The goal was to see which method clears stones more safely and effectively.
