Could a 3-Month pill after pregnancy protect a Mother's heart for years?

NCT ID NCT07041281

Summary

This study is testing whether a 3-month course of the medication spironolactone, started soon after delivery, can improve blood pressure and heart health in women who had high blood pressure during pregnancy. It focuses on women who also have overweight or obesity, as they are at higher risk for developing lasting high blood pressure. The goal is to see if this short-term treatment can lead to better long-term heart health, measured 9 months after giving birth.
