Summary
This study looked at whether a personalized safety planning intervention (SPI) could reduce suicide attempts and deaths among 800 adults leaving jail. Participants were randomly assigned to usual care or SPI and followed for one year. The goal was to see if a brief, structured plan could save lives during this high-risk transition period.
