New spinal anesthesia may reduce surgery risks for elderly
NCT ID NCT03373864
Summary
This study compared two types of anesthesia for elderly patients having hip fracture surgery. Researchers tested whether a specific spinal anesthesia technique causes fewer dangerous drops in blood pressure during surgery compared to general anesthesia. They also looked at whether this leads to fewer heart and kidney problems after surgery in this vulnerable population.
