Zap to the back: can electrical stimulation restore balance after spinal surgery?
NCT ID NCT07298460
Summary
This study is testing whether a non-invasive electrical stimulation treatment, applied to the spine, can help improve balance in adults who continue to have stability problems after surgery for a degenerative neck spinal cord condition. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either real stimulation at one or two spinal locations, or a sham (fake) treatment, during balance and walking training sessions over four weeks. The goal is to see if the stimulation makes the training more effective at improving stability and walking, and to understand how it affects nerve and muscle activity.
