First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether spinal manipulation combined with connective tissue massage can reduce pain, menstrual symptoms, depression, and improve sleep in women with primary dysmenorrhea (painful periods). 75 women were split into three groups: one received both treatments, one got a sham procedure, and one had no treatment. They had weekly sessions for six weeks and filled out questionnaires about pain, symptoms, mood, and sleep. The goal was to see if this hands-on approach offers relief for period pain.
