First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how long the benefits of exposure therapy for spider fear last. 59 people with spider fear were exposed to a spider and then tested again after 1 week, 6 weeks, or 3 months. Researchers measured how close they could get to the spider, their fear, disgust, and heart rate to see if the treatment effect spread to new spiders.
