First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested a safe, needle-based treatment called pulsed radiofrequency on a key nerve cluster (sphenopalatine ganglion) to relieve chronic headaches and facial pain in 55 adults who did not get relief from standard medicines. The procedure uses mild electrical pulses to calm pain signals without damaging the nerve. Researchers measured pain levels, quality of life, and medication use before and up to 6 months after the treatment.
