Scientists watch Kids' eyes to unlock secrets of lip reading

NCT ID NCT05854719

Summary

This study aimed to understand how children, both with and without hearing loss, use their eyes to read lips and interpret facial expressions. Researchers tested 140 children aged 8-11, tracking their eye movements to see which parts of the face they look at while trying to understand speech. The goal was to learn which looking patterns lead to the best lip-reading skills and to test if a training app could help improve these skills.
