Scientists zap brain to unlock speech learning secrets

NCT ID NCT04818268

Summary

This Yale University study aimed to understand how the brain's memory systems help us learn new speech patterns. Researchers used a safe, non-invasive magnetic stimulation technique on healthy adults to temporarily reduce activity in a specific memory area of the brain. They then measured how this affected participants' ability to adapt their speech when hearing altered feedback of their own voice.
