Heart attack survivors: does a special hospital boost recovery?

NCT ID NCT07002294

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people who survive a cardiac arrest outside the hospital recover better if they are treated at a specialized cardiac arrest center instead of a regular hospital. About 1,600 adults will be randomly assigned to either be transferred to a specialty center or stay at the nearest hospital. Researchers will check their recovery and ability to function 90 days later.
