New program aims to bring comfort, not hospitals, to dying seniors

Summary
This study tests a program called SPA-LTC that helps long-term care staff provide better palliative (comfort) care for frail elderly residents. About 594 residents and their families will take part. The goal is to see if the program reduces trips to the hospital and improves satisfaction with end-of-life care.
