Lemon juice trial offers simple hope for stroke swallowing problems
NCT ID NCT07400822
Summary
This study tested whether a small amount of sour liquid (lemon juice) could improve swallowing function in stroke patients who developed swallowing difficulties. Researchers compared 95 stroke patients who received either lemon juice or plain water before meals for 30 days. The goal was to see if the sour taste stimulation could help patients swallow more safely and effectively during recovery.
