Can pressurized oxygen heal stubborn bone infections?
NCT ID NCT07535164
First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests whether breathing pure oxygen in a special chamber (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can help treat infected leg fractures that are hard to cure with surgery and antibiotics alone. About 50 adults with infected lower-limb fractures will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care or standard care plus extra oxygen sessions. The goal is to see if a larger study is possible, not yet to prove the treatment works.
