Dental study finds best bleach strength for saving infected teeth

NCT ID NCT06433245

First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked at 128 people with painful, inflamed tooth nerves (irreversible pulpitis) to see if using a 5% or 3% bleach solution (sodium hypochlorite) works better for cleaning and stopping bleeding during a partial pulpotomy—a procedure that removes only the top part of the nerve. The goal was to save the tooth and reduce pain. Results will help dentists choose the right concentration for better healing and less discomfort.
