Spray aims to shield cancer patients from painful radiation burns
NCT ID NCT07399990
Summary
This study is testing whether a spray containing an antioxidant enzyme (Superoxide Dismutase or SOD) can prevent or reduce the severity of painful skin burns (radiation dermatitis) in patients receiving radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. The spray is applied to the skin and aims to neutralize harmful molecules produced during radiation treatment. Researchers will enroll 140 patients to see if the spray helps patients complete their cancer therapy with fewer skin-related interruptions.
