The trial has finished. Results may not be published yet.
Stopped early
Stopped early, before it reached the end. That can be for many reasons, including safety.
Cancelled
Cancelled before anyone took part.

Expanded access (not trials)

Expanded access
Not a trial. This treatment can be requested outside a study, case by case, for people who qualify.
Expanded access (paused)
Not a trial. The treatment can normally be requested outside a study, but is unavailable right now.
Expanded access (ended)
Not a trial. The treatment could once be requested outside a study, but no longer can.
Approved
The treatment has been approved, so it is available normally rather than through this programme.

Summary

This trial compares two types of surgical guides used when placing dental implants immediately after extracting a front upper tooth. One is a conventional guide, and the other is a modified SocketFit guide designed to stay more stable after the tooth is removed. The study will measure how accurately the implant ends up compared to the planned position, using 3D imaging. The goal is to see if the SocketFit guide improves precision, which could lead to better outcomes for people needing front-tooth implants.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
SocketFit static surgical guide (a device with a socket-engaging extension) compared with a conventional static surgical guide
What this could lead to
If the SocketFit guide proves more accurate, it could make immediate front-tooth implants more precise and predictable, potentially improving long-term outcomes and aesthetics.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (26 participants), so results may not apply broadly. The new guide might not improve accuracy enough to justify its use, and any surgical procedure carries risks like infection or implant failure.

Phase

Not a phased trial

Phase numbers describe drug development. The registry uses this when they do not apply, as it does for trials of devices, procedures or behaviour changes, and for observational studies.
