First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a technique where a small piece of a tooth's root is left in place during dental implant surgery to help preserve the surrounding bone. Twenty patients with hopeless teeth received 23 implants using this method and were followed for 18 months. The main goal was to measure the thickness of the bone on the cheek side of the implant and to see how many implants survived.
