First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 36 times
Summary
This study looked at 53 male U19 soccer players in Norway to see if functional strength training or traditional strength training improves soccer skills more during the off-season. Players did either functional or traditional strength workouts twice a week for 8 weeks, plus regular soccer practice. Researchers measured passing, shooting, dribbling, sprinting, and jumping before and after the program to find out which training method works best.
