Summary
This study tested a program called Enhanced Chronic Care for veterans who were not ready to quit smoking. The program provided ongoing motivation and support to help them become ready to quit. Over 500 veterans took part, and the study compared this approach to standard care to see if it increased the use of quit-smoking treatments and actual smoking abstinence.
