First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining graphic health warnings with personalized counseling from community pharmacists helps adults in Bangladesh and Pakistan quit smoking and prevent non-communicable diseases like high blood pressure. About 3,400 adult smokers will be randomly assigned to receive either health booklets alone, booklets plus pharmacist counseling and SMS reminders, or standard care. The main goal is to see how many people successfully quit smoking for at least 7 days after one year.
