NCT ID NCT00591175

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether telling smokers how tobacco harms their teeth and gums can motivate them to quit. Over 1,000 dental patients who smoke at least 10 cigarettes daily will receive different types of smoking cessation advice. Researchers want to find out which approach works best, so they can design better quit-smoking programs for dental clinics.
