Eye surgery mystery: does leaving a tiny lens behind affect your sight?

NCT ID NCT06806085

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study aims to understand what factors affect vision sharpness after a type of laser eye surgery called SMILE, where a tiny piece of the lens is intentionally left in the eye. Researchers will measure changes in the eye's natural imperfections before and after surgery in 33 adults with nearsightedness. The goal is to learn how the leftover lens piece influences visual quality, not to test a new treatment.
