Thumb relief for phone addicts: new therapy tested

NCT ID NCT07484737

First seen Mar 23, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two hand therapy techniques — Mulligan's mobilization and tendon gliding exercises — can reduce pain and improve hand function in people who use smartphones and have De Quervain's tenosynovitis (a painful thumb condition). About 44 adults with persistent thumb or wrist pain for at least 2 weeks will participate. The goal is to find a simple, non-surgical way to ease symptoms and help people use their hands better.
