First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether a tablet app used by community health workers could improve the detection and management of anemia, gestational diabetes, and high blood pressure in over 3,400 pregnant women in rural India. Women in the intervention group were screened at multiple points during pregnancy and up to one year after birth, with referrals to doctors when needed. The goal was to reduce anemia and improve follow-up testing for diabetes and hypertension after pregnancy.
