First seen Dec 17, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tested a smart insulin pen and continuous glucose monitor system (Smart MDI) against standard insulin injections with glucose monitoring in 179 people with type 1 diabetes. The goal was to see if the smart system helps keep blood sugar in a healthy range more effectively. Participants used the system for 6 months, and researchers measured time in target blood sugar range and HbA1c levels.
