First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether offering small gift cards can help people with low income stop smoking. 320 uninsured or Medicaid patients joined a smoking cessation program and were randomly chosen to either get gift cards for staying smoke-free or just standard care. Researchers checked if they had quit at 26 weeks using breath and saliva tests.
