First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether adding a small repair for acid reflux during weight-loss surgery can reduce heartburn symptoms afterward. Fifty adults with severe obesity but no hiatal hernia were split into two groups: one got standard sleeve gastrectomy, the other got the same surgery plus a reflux repair. Researchers measured symptom changes one year later using questionnaires.
