NCT ID NCT03587831

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding weight-loss surgery (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) to lifestyle changes is more effective than lifestyle changes alone for people with NASH, a serious liver condition. About 48 adults aged 30-70 with NASH and obesity will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups and followed for 12 months. The goal is to see which approach better reduces liver fat, inflammation, and damage.
