Early birds eat better: sleep timing linked to teen diet

NCT ID NCT04992611

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at how the timing of sleep affects what teenagers eat. Researchers wanted to understand why getting more sleep helps some teens eat less, but not others. They studied 190 healthy teens aged 14-18 to see if matching sleep to their natural body clock improves their diet and helps prevent obesity.
