First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether helping people sleep better for 4 weeks before knee or hip replacement surgery can reduce pain and speed recovery afterward. About 100 adults with insomnia and osteoarthritis will receive either a brief sleep therapy (CBT-I) or sleep education before their operation. Researchers will track pain, sleep quality, and recovery for up to 12 months after surgery.
