Rare condition's sleep troubles under the microscope

NCT ID NCT05378932

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at how trouble controlling body temperature affects sleep in people with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (HED), a rare genetic condition that limits sweating. Researchers compared sleep quality, body temperature, and melatonin levels between 22 HED patients and healthy volunteers. The goal was to better understand sleep problems in HED, not to test a treatment.
