First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a mindfulness-based therapy designed to improve sleep in people with Down syndrome (age 12+). The program is adapted with visual aids, shorter meditations, and caregiver support. Researchers will compare it to a brief behavioral therapy in 20 participants, measuring sleep quality and quality of life.

- Active substance
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy for Insomnia (MBTI)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a non-drug way to improve sleep and daily life for people with Down syndrome and their caregivers.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small pilot study (20 people) testing an adapted therapy. Results may not apply to everyone, and the therapy requires commitment to practice.
