Summary

This study explores how different sleep durations—short (6 hours or less), long (9 hours or more), and average (7-8 hours)—relate to cardiovascular health, physical activity, and sleep quality. Researchers will measure blood vessel function, blood pressure, and sleep patterns in healthy adults aged 25-65. Some participants may also try a one-week regular 8-hour sleep schedule to see if it has any effect.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Regularized sleep schedule (behavioral intervention)
What this could lead to
If this study finds clear links between sleep duration and heart health, it could point toward sleep-based strategies to support cardiovascular well-being.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study with an optional one-week sleep intervention, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Results may not apply to people with medical conditions or those taking medications.
