Sleep banking before surgery could cut chronic pain

NCT ID NCT07383584

Summary

This study tests whether getting extra sleep in the week before joint replacement surgery helps reduce chronic pain during recovery. Patients having knee or hip replacement will either try to extend their nightly sleep or stick to their normal sleep patterns. Researchers will track sleep and pain levels before and after surgery to see if sleep banking makes a difference.
