First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at how people with below-knee amputations sense warm and cool temperatures on their residual limb, and how their blood vessels react. 56 participants, including some with diabetes, were tested to find the smallest temperature change they could feel. The goal is to understand these sensations better to improve prosthetic comfort and design.
