Light therapy gel shows promise for treating precancerous skin spots

Summary
This study is testing whether a gel called Ameluz, when activated by a special red light, can safely and effectively treat actinic keratosis—rough, scaly skin patches caused by sun damage that can sometimes turn into skin cancer. About 172 adults with 4 to 15 of these spots on their arms, legs, neck, or trunk will receive either the active gel or a placebo gel, followed by light treatment, up to two times. The main goal is to see how many people have all their treated spots completely cleared after the final light session.
